J&L Casting is investing over $400,000 in CY2018 to install automated lifting and positioning devices, improved safety training classes and employee personal protective equipment (PPE), along with other important improvements.
Fully automated no-bake foundry processes provide improved casting finishing characteristics, surface smoothness and dimensional stability. A smoother cast surface eliminates secondary operations such as machining, cleaning and finishing. Dimensional stability is also critical for long-lived operation in high wear, high temperature and highly corrosive environments.
Over the last six months, J&L has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in its molding and sand handling processes.
Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (“Berkshire”) (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) and Precision Castparts Corp. (“PCC”) (NYSE:PCP) today announced the completion of the acquisition of PCC for $235 per share in an all-cash transaction.
